Frida Happy mail

One of the last Happy mails I send out for the Happy mail project was this one I made for Leslie of the beautiful blog A Creative Mint. I think this one was one of my favourites to make. It's no secret I love Frida Kahlo and when Leslie wrote me she had visited the house of Frida I thought it would be a good idea to make a Frida themed Happy mail for her. My inspiration was the book Finding Frida Kahlo, so I made a little paper suitcase and filled it with small paper frida inspired objects and also included a mini frida hanger and frida medaillon.

Frida Catalogue

Finally I made a catalogue for my Frida collection, I have had some  mails from shops who are interested in wholesale and now I can finally send them a proper catalogue. I like having my own business but having to do it all by myself is sometimes quite hard. I want to do everything perfect and that takes time. I love being here on the blog and reading your comments but it's difficult to find the time to keep on the blogging and replying to all the e-mails. Just want to let you know that I read and apreciate all the comments ! Have a great week!

Christmas is coming....

Christmas is coming so close and I'm looking forward to decorate the house again, to get my boxes of decorations out and perhaps make a few new ones...One of my christmas decorations that isn't in a box is my WoodWool&stool tree so I could not resist to put it up and decorate with my new Frida ornaments, I think it's a perfect fit.

***
Talking about christmas I'm planning a christmas market at our house again this year. The market will be sunday the 9th december in Rotterdam, I'm happy to tell that I will have the company of two talented ladies Jessica (Jessica Nielsen) and Joscha (Muswerk) and their lovely work. Of course I'll be selling my work and the girls will have their own stall with cute products.

The making of Frida...

My new D.I.Y kit is almost here....it's inspired by the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. I really love Frida Kahlo's paintings and life story, a story about a stong talented women who was so passionate about her work and although her life was hard she never gave up and was so full of life.
This design was not just designed by me but also by my talented daughter Sofia, she made the lovely drawing of Frida Khalo for her 8th birthday party. For her birthday I also designed a Frida doll (pictured in the above picture left) that doll I never finished, it still has pins that attach her legs to her body,  but an idea was born...

So in the spring of this year I decided it was time for a new D.I.Y set , so I started working on a Frida D.I.Y kit, incorporating the lovely drawing of Sofia and the idea of the Frida doll. I have spend many hours designing , looking at all of Frida's work and pictures and had so much fun making these new sets. The fabric arrived just an hour ago from the screenprinter and I cannot wait to cut, sew and pack it and put it in my shop. I hope to have it ready by tomorrow for a big Frida shop update!

The fabric roll still needs to be printed and I hope to recieve it within 2 weeks and put it in my shop just in time for Christmas ( and Sinterklaas) shopping. Hope you like it as much as I do !!

Frida cards & paper bags

Still waiting for my test panel for my new set(s), some technical stuff caused a small delay ;-(
I thought it would be nice to reprint the drawing Sofia made of Frida Khalo for her 8th birthday party, this drawing i love so much and it was the inspiration of my new set to come. I listed a few of the bags & cards in my shop if you are interested.
I really can't wait to share with you the new set, I guess we still have to wait a bit longer!

Frida party in Queensland

One thing I love about blogging is that the world seems so small, it's great to be able to meet like-minded bloggers around the world. I really enjoy reading all your comments and love to hear and see that what I show here sometimes inspire others to create. Do you remember Sofia's Frida Khalo party we had last year? After seeing that party Lisa (from Australia) created a Frida party for her daughters 10th birthday party , I especially love the paintings the girls made, you can see and read more about the party and Lisa here.
