Fabrics...

I love fabrics and I must admit I have lots of them! I love visiting fabric stores and markets to find ( and buy) some more, I can get very excited about a new piece of fabric and dream about all the pretty things I can make of it. Since a few weeks I have my own fabric on the roll and I love looking at it standing there and think of all the things I want to make with it. I already made cushions, tea towels and a bag and plan to make a dress for the girls.... 

Paris Fabrics are here....

I'm so happy and excited to let you know that my Souvenirs de Paris fabrics are here. I have wanted to make fabric by the metre for so long and finally I have done it. Of course my first fabric had to be inspired by my favourite city Paris, I cannot wait to sew all kind of project with these fabrics. 

The fabric comes in two colours, blue and aqua and in two different weights, a soft cotton ( 120 gr) perfect  to make clothes, bedding etc and a heavy weight cotton (210gr) great for making cushion covers, bags, pencils purses.

Umbrella prints

I love these  screenprinted fabric trimming from the Australian company Umbrellaprints, I ordered them to join their yearly competiotion ( read here how to enter). The challange is to create something with this package of little pieces of their printed fabric. I love all the diffrent colours and prints that the package contained, the pieces are quite small and perfect to make small projects like doll clothes and accesories. Above you can see what I made with all the fabrics. What I liked about this challange was using every single bit of fabric that the package contained!

Frida shop update today

Yesterday the Frida fabric arrived and I have sewed and packed some of it already, I still need to take some pictures today and than I will update my etsy shop with the first Frida sets and ornaments.

Pretty fabrics...

My mum and dad went to Antwerp a few days ago and I asked my them to visit Julia's shop, I've been following her blog for a while now and love the pictures of her shop window and new products for the shop. She has a very nice collection of fabrics (liberty, echino etc..) buttons, japanese sewing books, wool and much more. This is what my mum bought for me ( she knows me well ;-) I hope to visit the shop myself in the near future to take a look at all the pretty things myself.

The party is over and there is so time again to work, one of the things I did is sorting out my fabrics and I made 5 new remnants sets for the shop, I love making them....

I Printed some new sets for the shop in red and black, I think these colours would look great for christmas projects, you can find the fabric sets here

I have made some new fabric remnants pack for the shop, I really enjoy making these, putting diffrent and colours and prints together is so much fun, if you like them you can find them here.

I've been busy screenprinting and sewing a lot the last few days, with the remnants of the sewing I made two great remnants bags,Perfect for small sewing projects.

I also listed a set of the green flower & butterflies fabric, if you like them, go and get them here.

Market day

I went to market today to buy fabric for a coat I want to make for myself but ended up buying lovely fruits, flowers and fabrics for more summer dresses.........not that I mind to much, but I still need that fabric for my coat!!

Not Pink

Yesterday I went to a fabric market in Rotterdam hoping to find lots of nice fabrics but sadly there was only one stall that was nice enough to have a good look at. I finaly found some nice fabrics in between all the pink, over sweet piles of fabric ( don't understand me wrong, I do like pink but only certain pinks and in the right dosis and combination;-) The fabrics are all cotton and very soft and flowy, I can't wait to start to sew the new summer clothes for Sofia and Mila....

Yesterday I was sorting out the clothes in the closet of the girls, these are some them. I love all the diffrent patterns combined....

Winter girl

Since I heard about Spoonflower I wanted to try it out, I could not wait anymore, I took the winter girl drawing from Sofia and added some colour ordered a yard and two weeks later our little package arrived. Sofia and I love the end result, the fabric has turned out great and is already cut up and sewn into a skirt and a few cushions.....

This morning I made some zipper pouches for the Vente Privee in Paris.....

shop update

This scarf and tissue holder are made by Claudia of Aux Petits Oiseaux, I love the colours and the free hand quilting details, if you have made some nice things with Mikodesign fabric I would love to see it, just e-mail me or leave a comment.

I'm in busy printing some of my new prints for this busy season that is coming, these prints are the first, one with stars and the other one with cats that are rotated to form a sort of flower shape. I can not decide for a name for them so I thought you could help me out, come up with some nice/funky/lovely names for these prints and the one I will pick receives a surprise package with these fabrics.
