For the wintermarket I baked a lot of cookies and Mila's window houses inspired me to make cookies in house shapes, I really love baking and this cookie recipe is the best, these are sugar cookies, I think a lot of you might know these already, I made these with the recipe of Martha Stewart, here is a link to the recipe and video. What I love about these cookies is that they really keep their shape ( this is because after cutting the shapes you put them in the fridge overnight and than bake them) and of course they taste jummie too.... An impression of our wintermarket
Yesterday we had a great day, very cold and cozy. The wintermarket went great and we had some really lovely visitors, friends, family and bloggers( so nice seeing Josha + family and Kay again). The girls did a great job running their little cafe, the hot chocolate with wipped cream was favourite and the cookies went well too ;-) Their shop inside looked so pretty and I loved seeing them in action, as you can understand they almost sold out!

Tomorrow the wintermarket is already, yesterday Mila had a day off school and cut these lovely paper houses as window decoration, don't they look great! It's pretty cold here in Rotterdam and I even saw a few snow flakes today ! I hope to see some of you tomorrow, you can find the details here, we will have hot choco and freshly baked cookies waiting. I will try to make some pictures to share next week.Thursday, November 25, 2010

sewing more clothes
I think I'm a little addicted on the whole doll clothes sewing, I simply can't stop! I made a pattern for a shirt and sewed these two, for the white shirt I used a vintage napkin and for the other I cut up an old liberty blouse of Sofia. I hope you had a great weekend, this week i will be busy preparing for our wintermarket and screenprinting more rabbit/doll kits for the shop because they are simply flying away ( jippie.....!!)Friday, November 19, 2010
Wintermarket
Yesterday I asked Sofia to design a invitation for our wintermarket and here it is, a cute cat ice-skating (why didn't I think about that?). We took the drawing of Sofia and traced it with a special gocco pen and then gocco-printed the invitation in blue & gold. I was also quite productive yesterday evening and managed to sew a new outfit for one of the dolls, pretty chic I would say! If you like the custom dolls that I have been posting lately, you can buy them at the wintermarket (and will not be for sale yet in my etsy shop) or just contact me and I make a special order! New bag and lots of packages
Yesterday I finally sewed a new bag for myself....always too busy to make something for myself ( do you know that feeling?) I really needed this new bag, my old one was falling to pieces and looked really shabby. The fabric I used is the echino fabric my mum bought in Antwerpen here, you can also buy it online here and for the dutch readers you can find Echino fabric here and here, it's a really great fabric to work with and the bag is perfect for going to the post office!Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Happy monday
Hi there... I just saw that I haven't posted for almost a week, I was so busy printing, sewing, packing and going to the postoffice that I just didn't have thought about it (but that is also a good thing, it means I'm busy working ;-) . These rabbits and ladies are taking a trip to France, lucky them. I have to wait a little longer, I going on a small weekend trip to Paris with Sofia in december to see some friends, do christmas shopping and take lots of pictures for my very neglected Carnet de Paris blog.Tuesday, November 09, 2010
Mikodesign Collection Magazine
I really love internet and all the options it offers, lately I've been in love with Issuu, a great site that makes it possible to publish your own online magazine. Who would not want to make/have it's own magazine? I would love to make one someday but I know my time limits and thought it would be much better to make a catalogue of my work. So I spend the last 6 days almost non-stop behind the computer to make a catalogue. Making the catalogue was quite a bit of work but it feels so nice to have it finished and feels great to flip the pages...
I really like these issuu publications

Mix and Match set
How was your weekend? I spend my sunday evening in front of the telly filling up all these arms and legs of the Mix & Match creatures, so they would be finished in time to photograph so that I can introduce you to a new set in my shop. I made a few mix & match creature sets, a set with pieces of screenprinted fabric to make at least 3 creatures. You can find the new sets in my shop. ***

A finished doll..
I always love seeing what other people make with "my fabrics " and now with all the doll & rabbit kits flying all over the world I look forward to see the finished dolls and rabbits. Some time ago Nathalie (NU interieur ontwerp ) bought a doll kit and I asked her if I could share the doll she made, I like that she kept it simple and just added a comfy white scarf. Nathalie also made some cute robots you can see them here.

Some doll clothes
Do you remember the doll I made for Mila's birthday? (That doll was the inspiration for the new Rabbit kit). I did not only made the doll but also some extra clothes, a party dress made of pure silk and glitter fabric, liberty skirt and a liberty bikini. I asked my mum to make a closet, it's made of cardstock and covered in bookbinders linnen. Seeing these clothes again makes me want to start sewing some outfits for the dolls sitting in my room waiting to be dressed, but first there are some boring things that need my attention !! A stylish nursery
I really like the blog and work of Nina and now that she is pregnant with her first child I love seeing her decorating style when it comes to children rooms and clothing. Some time ago she shared some pictures of the nursery on her blog and I was happy to see the doll that I made so cozy in the baby bed. I'm looking forward to see how having a child will influence her work. One thing I know for sure, it will be a very stylish baby ! Monday, November 01, 2010
A new skirt for Sofia
It's been a while ago that I've been sewing clothes for my girls, I planned to join the Kids Clothes week but was to busy at that time, I thought I could do some sewing in the autumn holidays but didn't manage that too. So I was very pleased with myself and Sofia that Saturday morning we made this skirt together. She helped me cutting, pinning, measuring and I did the sewing. I used a old skirt of Sofia as example, the fabric is a corderoy so that will be nice and comfy in these cold months. If you feel like sewing some kidsclothes and look for ideas, inspiration and tutorials be sure to check Elsie Marley's blog.
