Sweet sushi tutorial

For Mila's party we made sweet sushi, it was real fun to make, it tasted jummie and it looked really cute on the party table.

I've got some questions on how we made the sushi so I made a photo tutorial so you can make your own!

tip: don't know how to make buttercream here is a recipe

tip:for rolling out the fondant I used a little bit of cornstarch so it would not stick onto the rolling pin or table, use only a little otherwise your fondant will look white instead of black

tip: If the buttercream  is not soft enough to apply add a little bit of hot water and mix well

enjoy making and eating the sushi!!

Tutorial time

Perhaps you remember this doll outfit I made before, such a easy and fun thing to make. So when Mila had an other hole in her legging I thought it could be fun to make a new doll outfit and make a little tutorial for you. I love projects that take little time and have a nice result. The ensemble was a bit boring all in one colour that's why I decided to use some Paris tranfers that I bought on my trip to Paris you can find them here, the scarf I made from Petit Pan fabric.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial, if you make your own doll outfit I love to see it!!

Friendship bracelet tutorial

Today is Mila's last day in her class and she is saying goodbye to her classmates, she made a little farewell gift for them. Very simple friendship bracelets made with some leather (fake) cord and a pretty glass bead. To finish it of I printed some sticker labels Mila designed and added some small candies in a transparant bag, cute and simple don't you think!

Travel pillow cover tutorial

Here we are busy preparing for our trip, one of the things my man bought where travel pillows for the girls for some comfort while they sleep in the car. These cushions are not so pretty and I think the material is not so comfy so i decided to make a cover for them and made some pictures during the process so if you feel like making your own you can see how. I used my padded fabric from Petit pan I bought in Paris, so now the pillows are comfy and colourful!!

See the whole tutorial here.

The magazine is out now ( I haven't seen the article yet ) and the tutorial I made is published on their website here. I can't wait to see Sofia's party in print.

Since a few weeks Sofia and Mila are writing letters to their grandparents, they don't live far away and we see them almost every week but I thought it was a good way for the girls to practice their writing skills & spelling and it would also be a fun thing to do. Last week Mila and I spend some time making enveloppes of pretty paper from our favourite magazine Flow, I made a little animation with a small tutorial on how to make these cute enveloppes with some magazine pages and Japanese tape...enjoy!!
