Frida Happy mail

 

One of the last Happy mails I send out for the Happy mail project was this one I made for Leslie of the beautiful blog A Creative Mint. I think this one was one of my favourites to make. It's no secret I love Frida Kahlo and when Leslie wrote me she had visited the house of Frida I thought it would be a good idea to make a Frida themed Happy mail for her. My inspiration was the book Finding Frida Kahlo, so I made a little paper suitcase and filled it with small paper frida inspired objects and also included a mini frida hanger and frida medaillon.

I've written about the Happymail project before here on the blog, a very fun project to send a happymail every month for a whole year and in return recieve 12 very lovely happymails.

 I have to confess that I was very late with making and sending my happymails, the first few I send neatly in time but when the year got busier I got behind a lot. 

I don't want to rush making the happy mails and just put some pretty things in an enveloppe but I try to compose a collection of things that the reciever will like.

Teatime in Paris

 

 Oh my, I have been away from my blog such a long time. I did not plan to be away but life just took over I guess, the kids had holiday, i had lots of work to do and the lack of sunshine did not help either, I love making pictures with natural light but rainy grey days kept me from making bright and sunny pictures to share on my blog.

In the meantime I have recieved and send some Happy mails for the Happy mail project, I really enjoyed making my mail for Ishtar, I knew she likes neon colours and tea and I combined that with my love for Paris and came up with the ' Teatime in Paris'  theme for this happy mail. It's so fun to make these and to work with a special person in mind, it was so much fun to make and even better to hear that Ishtar loved it too!

The happy mail included some lovely smelling tea that I repackaged with Rie Elise Larsen paper that I bought here, I made some enveloppes, some drawings, stickers, Mila helped to make confetti and I included a little camera & some Paris labels.

More Happy mail

Oh my...I feel so lucky to be part of this project, look what came in my mailbox a few days ago. This time I got mail from Julie from Belgium. Such a happy and delicate surprise in an enveloppe. I love all the details and the tiny works of art I found inside. The little sewing set is so adorable and will find a special place in my work room, the cat is just super ane I think I need to put a frame around it! I cannot wait to make my second happy mail, my firts one went to Lisa, but I forgot to take pictures ;-(

When Ishtar asked me if I wanted to be part of the happy mail project I just had to say yes, although I do not have that much time left, the idea of sending and recieving pretty mail from some really lovely and talented ladies sounded great. In this time of internet, emailing and social media it's so nice to recieve a beautiful hand written letter with pretty animal stamps!  If you want to read and see more about the Happy mail project you can go here.

My first mail came from Canada from Leslie of the gorgeous blog a Creative Mint, it was like spring in a pretty enveloppe. The selection of lovely paper and postcards are so nice and i will find some good use to it but the handwritten letter was by far my favourite! I cannot wait for my next Happy mail to arrive.
