Yesterday we had some coffee and cookies in Villa Augustus, a greatRestaurant/cafe/Hotel near Dordrecht, they have a lovely garden where they grow vegetables and herbs.

Today I went here and sewed stretch for the very first time.

I made this dress for my little niece Ilse ( it is still way too big!!)

It was not as difficult as I thought it would be!

I made my first t-shirt..... I 'm quite happy with the result.

Parade

Yesterday we went to the Parade, a traveling theatre festival we love......
the girls had a meet and great with Hakim ( from the dutch Sesame street)

Rain and thunder outside, inside we made tents and dress up .

I can not tell much, but I can say it was a fun day and I tell ( and show) you more in December.......

our Kitchen

This is the other side of the kitchen, a marrocan cupboard from my grandparents.

This is our (almost) finished kitchen, we need to put in a new floor and some shelfs still.I love how the tiles worked out, I did the tiling myself!!!

kids corners

The 'kitchen' is a little corner in our kitchen, the girls love playing here, we constructed it with some old shelves, cd unit and second hand drawers I painted.

Most of the kitchen toys are from the Hema

This is the girls bedroom, it is a small space so we tried tomake most out of it by building everything ourself. Both the girls have their own little house that they can close with a curtain, build in are a closet and doll(barbie) house.

Melissa of Kidshaus asked me for some pictures of "kids corners" for her blog, so after some tidying up and some help from Mila, this is what it looks like.....

Japanese doll

I made Sofia this 'Japanese Doll' as a birthday present.

7 years

Today my little girl is 7 years.

She is a big girl now, reading writing, smart,

I'm so proud of her,

here she is with me almost 7 years ago,

the same spot in the garden,

so small...

now so big...

I want to thank Leslie from a little goodness for helping me with Sofia's Japanese birthday party, because with the japanese candy, lampions, japanese toys, origami paper etc... she send us I was able to make it a big succes! Thanks Leslie you are super sweet to have done this for us.

The Party.....

Yesterday we had Sofia's Japanese birthday party, in the morning we had her friends over and we decorated kimonos with stencils, they had some japanese treats ( and ate them with chopsticks) and we made some origami cats, rabbits and boxes.

In the aftrenoon we had the party for friends and family with a japanese buffet ( salads, sushi, teriyaki, tempura and more.....).
