Bags finished

Last week I made some dresses, tops and blouses for the 'vente privee' a Paris, so now I made matching bags for them. Here Sofia showing all the finished items, 19 and still counting.

I love HEMA

For all you who are not living in Holland I want to share with you my love for a great store, HEMA. At HEMA you can find all sorts of thing, food, clothes, toys, paint, bedding, etc.... . But what make HEMA special, they always have new trendy items by their own design, good prices and great colours. So I must confess that I have bought some (much needed) new things. A new duvet cover for Mila's bed with the cutest cookies and teapots and some presents for friends of us who just got a baby girl. See their website for more pictures.

Package from Paris

Yesterday we recieved a suprise package from Paris, from Maud and her two lovely girls Adele and Carmen. Sofia and Mila both got their own bag with goodies, they put all to use at ones.
For me was also a suprise, maud send me some cute bias- ribbon with flowers, I love bias- ribbon so she made me a happy girl, ( I use it in almost all my projects).

Before I found out about all those lovely Japanes fabrics, i Could not found enough fabrics that I really liked, so I started designing myself took a refreshment course printing and started printing my own fabrics, not far from my house you can rent a printstudio for a couple of hours and start printing, it has been a while but today I went printing. I really love the moment when all the fabric is dry and neatly folded on the table. I have so many new printing ideas I can't wait untill the next time.

balletskirt

When I was in Paris last December I bought some lovely tule, finally I made them in (ballet)skirts. The skirts are 4 layers, the first layer is oraganza and then 3 layers of tule on top, in diffrent colours, I'm very pleased how they have turned out. So then I hadto take some pictures because I need photo's for my website, so this are some of the pictures taken. I just love those butterflies.

Roodkapje in het bos

The girls love fairytales they can't get enough of them, one of their favourites is the story of little red riding hood, so that inspired me to make them an outfit.
Because the girls like it so much I also made a few for the christmas sale and today I made some pictures for my webpage wich I want to finish as soon as possible.

Japanese dotty dress

I finally made a start with making some of the patterns from the lovely Japanese book on girls clothes Sasha had send me. I really love the book, it took some efford to know how it all works(my japanese is not what it used to be!), in fact it's rather simple, they use variations on a few patterns, here are some photo's of the first results, both Sofia and Mila wanted to try it on. I really like the result, it's easy to put on, no straps or buttons, and the girls like it. I have a few half meters of liberty waiting that I saved for a good pattern, I guess I found it. Thanks Sasha for this inspiration.

The 17th of march I will be in a 'vente privee' in Paris in the house of our friends Eduard and Maud together with the talented Marine from Figuesenpot. Marine makes lovely and original clothes for women, man and children, she uses also screen printing with her design.
With these private sales coming up I have been busy with lots of things, so I like to show you some of the already finished products, thanksto my lovely model Sofia, she asked me if she could model wintercollection next time, it was rather cold today.

colours in our home

I love making things for children, because when I create for
children I dare to use more colours and use them in diffrent
combinations.
This is the room of sofia and Mila, quite small, so we had to
come up with a good plan.
My hubbie and I designed and made to houses for the girls,
with beds, shelves, windows, doorway and a tworoom appartment
for barbie & co.
For the curtains I used old fabric from my grandmother (she is
from Hungaria) and used the colours for inspiration.
On the other wall we put photo wallpaper of a forrest.

This is a part of the 'girls kitchen', made of some shelves and a
old cd-rack,I could not resist the wooden tea-bags , eggs and
even wooden cookies.

swap from australia

Sorry for not blogging for a while but we a had a little
holiday and when we returned, the girls and my hubbie
got ill.
So I was busy with other things, monday morning we
recieved our swap package from lovely Rosie and Melly
from australia.
Oh I don't know where to start, we really loved our
package.
The girls recieved two adorable handmade cats, so beautiful
and well made.
They treated me with some great vintage patterns, a handmade
bag, a pile of great fabrics, lovely cards, chocolates and even
more treats.
Thanks Melly and Rosie, such lovely things, a real treat, you
brought some australian sunshine in our house.
