Pinata

Mila will have her party this coming saturday so there are some more craft projects going on here, we started making a bird pinata, normally I use balloons to make the basic shape but after seeing this tutorial of Giddy Giddy I thought it could be a great way to try to make a small bird pinata. We will fill it with chocolate eggs and than cover it.

The Invitations

Time is really going fast and it's time to send out the invitations for Mila's bird party. The drawing of the branch and the sweet little girl on the back are made by Mila, the birds are little pins ( to wear to the party) made out of delicate fabric, felt and some vintage lace, Mila cut the wings then I sewed them and then she cut off all the loose ends. I really like working together on these projects and get the girls involved....this makes it so much more personal dont you think.

give away + free tissue holder

I don't like wasting fabric and I love making these tissueholders because they are usesful and a perfect project for using my smaller pieces of fabric. So every now and then I make a few and now you can get one for free, there are two ways to get your hands on one of these.

***

1. buy something in my etsy shop and get one tissue holder ( for the first 10 customers)
2. leave a comment on this post and I'll pick a winner on thursday the 17th

Spring colours

Lots of sun in our garden, a perfect moment for taking some pictures of the colourful object the girls and their friends created in their holiday. They will be selling these at a fondraising day at their school to collect money for children in Sierra Leone working in the diamond inustry. I helped out a bit with ideas and sewing the bags (old table cloths) but they did most of it themselves!! I think and hope they will raise a nice amount, the market is at the end of the month and of course I will keep you posted on their succes!

We collected glass jars and filled them with colourful craft materials and they decorated them with fabric tape.

The bags we made of old tablecloths, the handles are made by the girls out of fabric strips, we found this idea at the very pretty and creative blog Cakies

Collecting

Mila's collection of birds is growing
Lately I have been very busy with tyding my workroom and trying to organize my stuff better and finishing up project that have been neglected far too long. One of those projects was the stool of Sofia's desk, it still needed a nice soft cover like the one Idid for her sister some time ago (see here). For the fabric I used a piece of fabric designed by Kristen Doran, I saved it for a special project! Sofia was very pleased to see I finally finished it!

Sweet Paul Magazine

You know I like online magazines....especially when one of my products is in there!! Here you can see my "I love Paris doll" in the new issue of Sweet Paul, nice to share a page with Jurianne's boats and esthex house storage bag! Read the issue here....

Folksy lady

Playing around with some vintage pieces of fabric, old hungarian fabric from my grandmother turned into a skirt, a small embroidery cloth transformed into a apron. I really like dressing up my dolls.
