A collection part 1#

Saturday we visited my favourite secondhand store and I was lucky to find some really nice vintage teatowels for my small but growing collection. Today I'm planning to cut some ( yes really....I know it's difficult for me too) and make them into cushions for Sofia and Mila's room, they really like the ones with the animals of Australia. Getting there...
In June we started with relocating and redecorating the room for Sofia and Mila and I have to confess we didn't finish jet. The room is already functional but there is still a lot of decoration to be done to give the room a cozy feel. Yesterday I had a very productive day and finished 4 new cushions, two wall book bags and started with the roman blind ( I really don't like making curtains!!!).

It's out !!!!
Our house is part of the newest book of Editions de Paris and guess what, Sofia and Mila made the front cover, how cool is that!! I haven't seen the inside jet and cannot wait to hold it and see all the other houses in it (Ninainvorm, Mus, All the luck in the world, Wood, Wool and stool and then some more) You can buy it here, read (if you read Japanese ;-) here some more about the lovely makers of the book Miho, Masami and Naomi.

Gone to the Market

Saturday I had a stall at a market in Rotterdam and I had a great day, although I would loved to have sold more the day was just perfect. After a week with grey and rainy weather is was so nice to have a warm sunny day sitting and enjoying the great music (by Rupa & the April Fishes) and smelling and eating the nice food, the girls came along and enjoyed the kids activities ( the made a animated film I hope to show you sometime), what more do you need. I made some new tissueholders and cottonbags last week and also did some screenprinting so think I will update my shop later this week.

Frida party in Queensland

One thing I love about blogging is that the world seems so small, it's great to be able to meet like-minded bloggers around the world. I really enjoy reading all your comments and love to hear and see that what I show here sometimes inspire others to create. Do you remember Sofia's Frida Khalo party we had last year? After seeing that party Lisa (from Australia) created a Frida party for her daughters 10th birthday party , I especially love the paintings the girls made, you can see and read more about the party and Lisa here.

For a rainy day
Here in the Netherlands it doesn't feel like summer today, it's grey and rainy, a good day to stay inside and stroll along some of my favourite blogs. Diana always shares great find from the internet on her blog and I love her latest find. Very pretty free games, sweet design, lots of fun ...I think you'll like them too! You can find them here.Monday, August 09, 2010
In our garden today..

Just before our summer holiday started I printed these hankies but never had a change to take proper pictures and show you. I love hankies and I got a rather big collection of them and since printing these for Mila's birthday party I wanted to print more and with diffrent prints. These I printed with a new design I'm working on. I love how they turned out and plan to make many more.....

Our lovely weekend
I hope your weekend was as great as ours, we spend it well with watching the summer carnaval parade and having lazy picknics in the park with friends. In the park I enjoyed a jummie peppermint lemonade with mila sitting under this umbrella, (more info here) one of the art instalations of the summer festival Duizel in het park. Only two more weeks of summer holiday left and there is still so many things I planned to do......
