Sewing boxes

The girls had birthday parties to attend this weekend and gifts where needed, we arranged these sewing boxes, I made little pincushions and the girls helped with winding the threads and ribbons around the cardstock. I bought some really sweet "punnik" dolls( I don't know the english word ;-) and sweet suitcases in matching colours. I think this is such a fun thing to give to girls and what I like is that you can make this in any price range. For the dutch readers, I found the punnik-dolls at Xenos they have some really sweet things there at the moment!

Wat een geweldige cadeaus! Ik vind het ook altijd leuk om creatieve cadeaus te geven, dus ik ga snel naar de Xenos! Dank voor de tip.

What love gifts, they remind me of gifts which we as children would receive and i am now in my 50's. in england we call these dolls 'knitting nancy'.

Ja de Punnikpoppen van de Xenos. Ik heb vorige week de paarse gekocht. Good old memories!

Never thought that a DIY craft kit can be as gorgeous as this one. My daughter has 2 birthday parties to go to. I am about to run out of ideas of "good" gifts - as I don't fancy store bought items at all. Thanks for the tips!!

oh, i love that! i know lots of little children that would adore this. we've often given bamboo knitting needles and a skein of wool suitable for little hands.
