Do you have Stockholm tips????

Almost summer holiday, friday we will leave for our holiday, we are house-swapping and will go to a very nice city appartment with balcony ( overlooking the water and boats) in Stockholm. I have already found some nice city guides on the internet but what I really look for is some more tips on what to do and see in stockholm, where to shop and swim and I would love to hear if you have any tips on what to do with kids in Stockholm......

Trevlig sommar!

Stockholm is Mooi!!

If you want to go swimming with small kids in town it's Långholmsbadet (Södermalm) or Skinnarviksbadet (Kungsholmen). Both are crowded but ok on a hot day. Nice for evening swims are Lilla Essingen or the new part of Liljeholmen - the water looks nicer (not so messy) and is deeper with small "piers". The best swims is in the archipelago though, but it takes a while to get there (take a boat from Nybroviken).
If wou visit Malmstensbutiken (above) you shouldn't miss Svenskt tenn located next to it (expensive though...).
For kids there's lots of stuff on Djurgården - Junibacken (themes from children's author Astrid Lindgren), Skansen (zoo) and Gröna Lund (tivoli). From there go can take a boat to Slussen and Södermalm where you should take Katarinahissen (an elevator) up the hill and cathch a quick view of Stockholm. If you got time ask for Monteliusvägen which is a nice walk overlooking the water (takes you from Slussen to Zinkensdamm).
Other nice places on Södermalm are Debaser (a rock club between Slussen and Gamla stan where you can sit in the sun on a hot day), Mosebacke (classic place with a view behind Katarinahissen) have jazz brunches on weekends and an outside terrass all summer, Cafe Rival at Mariatorget (café/hotel/bar) owned by Abba-Benny. Nice but expensive is Fåfängan - a classic place in the outskirts of the city centre (nice view as well).

Just browsing in Gamla Stan is really nice, with the old houses and alleys. Also there's a market called Street by the water at Hornstull, not sure how often. They have vintage and new clothes and crafts and the like.
Hope you enjoy your stay!

Street has closed down. It's now called Strand and is more centred around music and clubbing. It's still a nice place to go though - for a coffee or a glass of wine by the water.

Hi. I'm from Portugal and we're also going to stockholm. But we're still trying to find a nice place to stay. Where did you find the city appartment? We have a 2 years old girl so it would be nice.
wish you a nice holiday.
