Preparation (...or post of a proud mummie ;-)
Sofia is already very busy preparing for the wintermarket this sunday, I just love what she made, her embroidery work is so nice and neat and she writes the loveliest notes ;-) On this project we worked together, I machine sewed and filled the body, sofia did the rest. I think these will be a big hit at the wintermarket!!Friday, November 20, 2009
She arrived....
Do you remember the 'design your own doll contest'? Flora won with her drawing ofthis sweet girl. It was such a pleasure to make this doll and it was hard to say goodbye..... But now she is in France in the lovely home of Flora and her sweet baby girl and I know she will be loved.

owls....owls...owls...

Mila had an other birthday party to go to and I totally forgot, we did not have a birthday present yet. Don't worry....Mila already had some ideas, a bag with a present in it...hmmmm...let me think...we came up with the idea that owls would be a good theme to go with. I googled owl (and also searched on flickr) and saw so many great owls and owl related products, even a great blog only about owls called 'My Owl Barn', they have lots of lovely freebies to download if you are an owl lover like me!!! Inspired by all we came up with this owl drawing and Mila helped me to choose the right colours and told me that we had to make a little mouse for the owl to eat :-(For the present inside the bag I found a great pattern from Becky's etsy shop to make your own owl and printed out the instructions( translated it in dutch) and collected the matreial needed for the project, and made a little kit. To wrap the whole packages I used a simple brown bag and to finish it off I printed an owl print I found on the web.
If you like you can print the owl template and use it to make your own owl bag, I think it will also be good to make into a softie or reduce the size andit will make a lovely christmas ornamant.

Lovely boutique in Paris
Perhaps you already know that I love Paris, I try to go there at least once or twice a year but this year I didn't manage to go, this has left me with an empty feeling. I'm now dreaming of a lovely early spring visit to Paris and visiting my old and new favourite stores. One boutique I really look forward to visit is L'Arriere-Boutique du passage, a boutique recently opended by my friends Marine and Julie. As you can see in the pictures it is a small but very cozy boutique filled with all sorts of lovely products such as clothes for women and children, small home accesories and even some lovely lingerie all designed and made by Marine and Julie. I really love the style of their work and presentation and cannot wait to go there.
If by any chance you are in Paris go and visit their shop and be sure to visit of 'boutique les Fleurs' another of my favourite shops in the same street.

Corners of my home
I have not been posting so much lately, so many things going on!! We are in the middle of redecorating our bathroom (I'm in charge of the tiling and that is a big job), my man was ill and I had to prepare the house for a very special visit of Miho, Naomi and Masami who are making a book about handmade dutch interiors for "Editions de paris" very exciting to work with them again and I look forward to the book ( it will be out in the summer)
