art, parade and new dresses

Last sturday we went to the museum and to the Parade,the Parade is a travelling theater with bars, tents, restaurants and theather shows, for adults but also for children. It so great it looks like an oldtime circus very colourfull, the girls love it.

A knights room

Today I finished a project I was working on, a room for a 5 year old boy (almost 6) who wanted a room for a knight, I designed a shield for him with the two T's for his name, the lion, the crown and lily had to be there. We chose bright turqoise and black with creme as base colour with sreenprints in turqoise, it was so much fun to see everything come together today, here are some pictures of the (not yet finished) room.

Today the weather was just great, the children had a short day of school so we had some time to go out and enjoy the weather. We went out with the bike and took a tour to the park, where we gave some bread to the deers and see the small sailboats, then we (I ) biked next to the river and see the big boats, today there was a big cruiser 'the grand princess' this is impressive, I love living in rotterdam on days of boats and sunshine...

Today I saw the blog of Marine that she made a very cute hat for her son Auguste, so let me show you what I made for my girl sofia, last month, I love the fabric that she used, go see her blog and site for much more lovely things, she also screenprint, she has a very good feeling for combinations of diffrent fabrics.

tapas and dresses

Yesterday, our little girl turned 6, we had a great time celebrating her spanish party, all the children came dressed up, we had Tapas and rasberrycake,mmmmm. I'm very pleased how the dresses for sofia and mila turned out. Now back to normal life, big clean up to do, trying to find my desk and sewing machine must be somewhere under that big pile of everything.

As I told you we will have a spanish party on saturday to celebrate sofia's 6 th birthday, so now we are busy preparing, yesterday the girls make a painting of a bull for a game we are planning for saturday.

weekend fun

Last saturday we went to archeon, a history theme park, we traveled from prehistoric villages to old Rome and to the middle ages, the kids had a real good time exploring, seeing knights, gladiators and prehistoric man ( ...mum this man looks like tarzan...)

Fiesta Sofia

Can't believe she will turn six next saturday, we are already very busy with her birthday party, as always we have choosen a theme, this time we go spanish. The dresses and birthdaycard are ready, now I have to focus on decoration and food ( tapas mmmm....)
